Walking frame safety alert

30th April 2008

A safety alert has been issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) over a type of walking frame.

It is concerned about a defect in frames manufactured by Trulife Limited between April and November 2007 with fears that the plastic height adjustment clips could fail, with the possibility that may cause the user to fall. Users are being advised to check their frames – which includes those with or without wheels - and the manufacturer has agreed to replace the clips.
