Warning for parents about children's backpacks

9th September 2011

Professor Alan Silman, Arthritis Research UK’s medical director, said the bags used to carry heavy books, lunchboxes and drinks, can injure a child’s back if the weight is too great or not distributed properly. Evidence suggests that as many as four out of five people experience back pain at some point during their life, often as a result of carrying abnormal loads.
