Warning issued to Trust

8th February 2008

The Healthcare Commission has served Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust with an improvement notice over its poor practices in tackling infection control.

After two unannounced visits in January, inspectors found dirty commodes, bloodstains on a bed rail and wall, poor decontamination procedures for surgical equipment and that the trust was failing in its duty to provide and maintain a “clean and appropriate environment for healthcare.?

The trust runs The Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington Hospital and Beckenham Hospital in south London and says the report will help it improve standards.
