Website logs student drinking habits

11th August 2008

A new website has been designed by a team at Leeds University with the aim of encouraging students to log how much alcohol they are drinking.

The Unitcheck site allowed users to compare their drinking with other students and find out about units. Bridgette Bewick of the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences said: “Many of the young people surveyed did not realise how many units they were consuming on an average occasion. And the heaviest drinkers were surprised to find the majority of their peers stay within sensible weekly limits.”
