Weight loss surgery limited

An expert has called for the most morbidly obese people to be given "palliative care" rather than surgery.

There are over a million severely obese people in the UK and only 2% are given gastric bypass surgery every year. Dr David Haslam, from the Experts in Severe and Complex Obesity group, said the "wrong people are currently benefiting" and "bariatric surgery should be rationed".
