What? Another review?

6th July 2007

Looks like I spoke too soon. Though strangely absent from the TV interview campaigns that all the other new Cabinet members entered into in week one of the reign of New New Labour, Alan Johnson has been working up to the big announcement.

Yes - there's to be another "wide-ranging" review of the NHS. Oh good, we haven't had one for a while. Apparently, it's seen as a fitting thing to do to mark 60 years of the NHS next year and is described in the official press release as a "once in a generation opportunity" - though the reason why this rare opportunity is so rare when it clearly isn't rare at all is not entirely clear.

Oh well - should be fun...
