Wide variation in depression recovery rates

21st September 2011

An NHS Information Centre report has shown there are wide variations in recovery rates from people with depression or an anxiety order.

Statistics showed that 42% of those who completed an NHS psychological programme during April 2011 and June 2011 were “no longer showing measurable symptoms of depression or anxiety disorders” at their last therapy session. However, recovery rates of NHS psychological therapies did vary widely between PCTs across England, ranging from 7% in one PCT to 63% in another.
