Will polyclinics boost care?

The leading health think tank the King’s Fund has said that polyclinics housing GPs and other specialists in one main centre may not result in better services for patients.

It said that patients who live outside of cities could be forced to travel further for care to the new GP-led health centres but with no improvement in that care, though the Department of Health say that existing health centres will not be replaced by the 150 new super surgeries planned for England.
