Winter flu jab guidance published

The Seasonal flu plan – Winter 2012/13 has been published by the Department of Health. Senior health officials have written to GPs and other health professionals emphasising the need to increase flu vaccination rates among vulnerable people.

The Chief Medical Officer, Director of Nursing and Chief Pharmaceutical Officer have stressed the need to increase flu vaccination rates particularly among those under 65 who are at risk of the effects of flu because of other conditions, pregnant women, and health and social care workers who have direct contact with patients.
