Women unaware of stroke risk

11th November 2008

The Stroke Association has said a high number of women do not know that minor "lifestyle changes could dramatically reduce" the danger of strokes.

According to a survey of 1,000 people, 60% of women did not recall the results of their last blood pressure test and two-thirds were unsure as to what their blood pressure measurement should read. The Association estimated that the deaths of 15 women a week could be prevented if they had kept track of their blood pressure.
