Worldwide cost of obesity same as smoking

Research suggests the worldwide cost of obesity is about the same as smoking and greater than alcoholism and climate change.

According to McKinsey Global Institute obesity cost the UK £47bn.

Researchers say 2.1bn people, about 30% of the world's population, are overweight or obese.
