Arden Cancer Network
c/o Coventry PCT
The Arden Cancer Network was established in April 2001. It is one of 34 cancer Networks in England and covers a population of approximately one million. This population is split between Coventry, North & South Warwickshire and Redditch and Bromsgrove.
There is a cancer centre in Coventry at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, and three cancer units: George Elliot Hospital, Warwick Hospital, the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and two sub-units at Solihull and Rugby St Cross.
The Network is composed of all those with a part to play in commissioning, delivering and receipt of cancer services. It is supported by a team which comprises:
- Network lead Clinician
- Network lead Nurse
- Network Director
- Network Service Improvement Lead and Service Improvement Team
The Network board is made up from senior representatives of each hospital trust and PCT, the Network lead team, user representatives and representatives of the voluntary sector, Strategic Health Authority, workforce Confederation and Primary Care. Its Chairman is the PCT Chief Executive.
The Network has many other groups of people with the skills and knowledge to shape our policy in each part of cancer services. These cover each of the cancer tumour sites and other specialist areas and they involve hundreds of clinicians and others from all over the Network.
